For years, Jira Server let teams run Jira on their own hardware. Atlassian ended support for Server in February 2024, which left two paths: Jira Cloud, or Jira Data Center, which is priced and designed for large enterprises. Many teams wanted a third option.
What you actually used
Most Server installations ran boards, a backlog, sprints, epics, custom fields and a few workflows, plus Confluence next door. Starlex has all of that in one product, including notes, whiteboards and diagrams, so you move one tool instead of two.
Nothing to run
Starlex is a cloud service. There are no servers to size, no Java to tune and no weekend upgrades. New features arrive without downtime: during an update the app holds what people change for a few seconds and saves it afterwards, so nobody loses work mid-edit.
Security built in
Projects are private to their members by default. Two-factor sign-in is available to everyone, and administrator access is time limited and audited.
