What is a RACI matrix?

A RACI matrix is a table that shows, for each task or decision, who is Responsible, Accountable, Consulted and Informed.

Responsible people do the work. One Accountable person owns the outcome. Consulted people give input before; Informed people are told after. The matrix prevents both gaps ("I thought you were doing that") and overlaps.

Assignees are responsible, watchers stay informed, and a project page can hold the full matrix.
